You’re getting closer!

Chicken salt is the finest seasoning for fresh hot chips and rotisserie chickens in the world. Bright yellow and packed with flavour, Australians douse chicken salt on their food at every local takeaway. The best chicken salt is the stuff made in Australia and used in takeaways. It’s bright yellow and tastes unmistakable.

We could have tried to make our own but it wouldn’t be the same… so we imported it directly from the manufacturer!

Is chicken salt gluten free?

Yes! Chicken salt does not contain gluten. It does contain Monosodium glutamate (flavour enhancer 621) but there is no gluten in MSG and so can be eaten by people with coeliac disease. Be aware our Kentuckiana Seasoned Salt does contain gluten.

Both salts are stored separately and do not come into contact with each other.

  • Kentuckiana Hot Chip Seasoning

A bang on 'clone' of the signature seasoning you get on boxed hot chips from the famous Kentucky based fried chicken joint in Australia. This isn't our Aussie Chicken Salt, it's a special hot chip seasoning.

    Clumping

Kentuckiana seasoning is hygroscopic and susceptible to clumping by absorbing moisture from the air. It doesn't affect the favour, just more difficult to sprinkle over food. This is why we use Mylar zip lock sealed pouches for their airtight seal. When it comes to packaging, we remove all the air in the pouch before heat sealing it in addition to the Mylar zip lock to eliminate all traces of moisture... reaching you in perfect condition. To keep your Kentuckiana seasoning dry remember to flatten your pouch before sealing the Mylar zip lock to keep it protected from moisture. If you're using one of our shakers, spin the lid to closed after use. If you're in a very humid environment then place the shaker in a zip lock bag after use to keep moisture out. Adding long grain white rice to a pouch or shaker helps to dry out clumping Kentuckiana seasoning.

    Tip

Whilst chicken salt is designed to be shaken directly on chips (and it is exactly as sold here all over Australia) you might find chicken salt has a flavour which is too strong. Mix chicken salt and normal table salt in a ratio of 1:1 for a slightly more gentle flavour.

What do you do when you're going to a party or BBQ where chicken salt won't be present... but it really should be? Imagine a British party where table salt is the best salt? An Australian themed BBQ in the UK with no chicken salt? Is it even a BBQ at all? You need The Party Pack to sort this mess out. The Party Park contains two branded The Chicken Salt Co. shakers and two bags of The Headliner (100g) to fill them with enough to spare. There are also four bags of The Adventurer (30g) for people to take home afterwards... after exclaiming it's the best thing they've never tried, or haven't had proper chicken salt for years. It's not our fault if they pour the entire take home bag on a plate of kebab shop hot chips late at night whilst trying to find a live stream of the NRL. The Party Pack started life as a custom order and we thought the idea was so good that it is now a store item!

The Shaker Pack is quite literally the answer to how chicken salt should be gracefully applied to hot chips. The shaker is made of glass with a stainless steel outer cover and a stainless steel lid with three different shaker settings - much chicken salt should be released from captivity. As the shaker holds 70g of chicken salt you will also get two packets of The Headliner (100g) to fill AND re-fill your shaker! "Quite frankly my dear if you don't have one of these shakers in your kitchen in 2022 then you're not 2022'ing hard enough." - Multiple Reputable Sources

The Trade Pack is a 2 kilogram beast that will power hundreds of orders in a chip shop or restaurant with genuine Aussie chicken salted hot chips. We only have this in stock when we have enough chicken salt; as the pandemic subsides we'll have deliveries on a more regular basis. We are currently the only company in the UK (and most likely Europe) that imports genuine Aussie chicken salt used in takeaways and chicken shops in Australia. Shipments are air freighted from Sydney for maximum freshness; in most cases it is fresher than used in shops in Australia. Chicken salt has a shelf life of two years and we generally receive shipments a month to six weeks after manufacturing.

    Delivery

Limited to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland only. We can hand deliver to any address in the Greater London and Surrey areas free of charge as we love meeting people who love chicken salt! Outside of these areas (or if you wish a non-contact delivery via courier) then we ship via Royal Mail Tracked 48 (or you can upgrade to Royal Mail Tracked 24 if it's urgent)
